Shabbat Prayer

For those of you new to Karaite Judaism, we understand that learning a new system of prayers is a bit daunting. The good news is that most of our prayers are directly from the Tanakh – with some additional poems. We have provided below audio files of our prayers – by Victor Cohen. We hope to upload the text that corresponds to these prayers in the coming months. In the meantime, enjoy!

Shabbat Menuha
to the tune of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah

Download the words. (Note: that we have printed the words according to how the song is traditionally sung. In order to preserve the melody of Hallelujah, Hazzan Rotem combined two verses with each chorus.)
